Medical Biography
Athanasios Badekas is an orthopedic surgeon with a private practice in Glyfada. He is a graduate of the Military Medical School and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with particular expertise in the treatment of hallux valgus (bunions) and flatfoot conditions.
- He has completed further training in:
- at the Foot and Ankle Fellowship Clinics (Foot and Ankle Fellowship)
- at the Hospital for Joint Diseases
- at the New York University
- at the Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore
The doctor is the first Greek orthopedic surgeon to have received advanced training in this specific field.

Today, the orthopedic surgeon is a visiting professor of foot and podiatric surgery at New York University's Hospital for Joint Diseases and is a member of major medical societies in his field.
- He holds a specialization in Sports Medicine, with a focus on knee injuries and arthroscopic techniques. Specifically:
- arthroscopic repair of meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament tears
- treatment of chondropathies of the knee and patella

Medical Biography
Dr. Maria Takvorian is a specialist physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatrist).
She is the scientific director of the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the ORTHOREHAB CENTER.
She holds a medical degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and is a graduate of the Hellenic Military Academy of Corps Officers. She previously served as Director of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department of the Hellenic Police.
After completing her specialization in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic at Asklipieio Voula Hospital, Dr. Takvorian continued her training at Tor Vergata University Hospital in Rome. There, she specialized in the management of sports injuries, the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound (certified by the Central Health Council of Greece, with an official ultrasound practice license from the Ministry of Health), and the application of mesotherapy. She has also been trained and holds a postgraduate degree in Aesthetic Medicine (MASTER IN AESTHETIC MEDICINE & THERAPEUTICS).

- She has been trained in aesthetic medicine and holds a postgraduate degree (MASTER IN AESTHETIC MEDICINE & THERAPEUTICS) from the University of Camerino & Torino in Italy.
- She is a graduate of ACU SCIENCE (International Postgraduate Acupuncture Center, Athens) and has been trained in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, Medical Acupuncture, Auricular Acupuncture, and Aesthetic Acupuncture.
- She has completed the Pain Management Training Program of the Hellenic Society of Anesthesiology.
- She has been trained in the Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy of Spinal and Limb Disorders (McKenzie Method).
- She has been trained in the therapeutic use of shockwave therapy (ESWT).
- She has been trained in prolotherapy (Prolotherapy).
